Echoes of Nihilus is the Crusade Campaign that D J is currently running at his gaming club that is nearing its conclusion. Whilst there will be a brand new campaign starting in the next few months, we thought we would do a write up of the narrative that has happened so far in the campaign as a prelude for what's to come. We would like to thank all the amazing players who have participated in and contributed to the fantastic lore that has made all this possible!

Le Roy's teleportation matrix activated as the vindicator fired its demolisher shell, narrowly escaping the death that the Iron Warriors so desperately sought for him. Drazyk snarled as the Khertet Dynasty, now headed by their recently reanimated Phaeron Nemekh the Summoner, arrived to aid the Harkillian 808th. Using their advanced technology the Necrons were able to counteract the Iron Warrior jamming signals and allow the inquisitor to escape. The two factions then found themselves in a stand off as the Harkillian 808th fell back towards to city of Nihmian's Pass to help aid in repelling the overwhelming Tyranid forces in the instance Exterminatus could be prevented. With little to gain from fighting one another the two factions ceased fire but not before causing considerable damage to one another.

Meanwhile the Nulla Faculta PDF entered the ruins of the planet's capital but find themselves the target of a surprise ambush from the Emperor's Children who had somehow made their way to the city beforehand. It was discovered that the Emperor's Children planned to use the surviving populace there to convert into drugs that would provide the Heretic Astartes with a high for their ever growing need for excess. The Emperor's Children's first attempt was hindered by the Tyranid swarms that had overrun the city by then and a second time when the highly trained Nulla Faculta PDF were able to hold off the warp tainted marines from capturing them. The Imperial Guard then moved to clear out the pinned down Adepta Sororitas, a mission that they accomplish with ease.

On the southern continent the land is awash with overwhelming numbers of Tyranids. The combined forces of the Blood Angels and the Mentors attempted to stem the tide of the invader organisms with varying degrees of success whilst Arkos and Xenniset forces continued to hold their ground against Ork mobs and Drukhari raids, though the earth shaking rumble beneath them that accompanied the ear splitting whining betrayed the Necrons ultimate gambit as the tombs they had remained watch over revealed their secrets. The "tombs" were in actuality ancient weapons of mass destruction intending to wipe out all life on the planet other than their own, though how or when these weapons would activate was still unknown.

Elsewhere, in a location unknown to the other factions wrestling for control of the planet, the Hedarai Vultures begun their sordid ritual where it had been discovered that the Librarian Sicandor was none other than the Changeling itself. With the infamous daemon's true identity and plans revealed, a tear in reality split open thanks to the sorcerous powers contained within the Liber Infernus as a Lord of Change, a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch set foot onto the material plane. At the same time the spiritseers of the Iyanden Craftworld in the south began to receive visions of the death and destruction such a creature was destined to reap upon the planet, but with the Imperium otherwise engaged with threats from the Tyranids, Necrons and various other hostile forces that plagued the world, their only potential ally in helping them preventing the Changeling's plans from coming to fruition were an ancient enemy of the Aeldari. Fortunately Kharimekh the First had been granted the gift of foresight long before the Necrontyr discovered the C'Tan and he had already guided his Dynasty to intercept the Hedarai Vultures, knowing full well the Aeldari would come and seek their aid on their own...
