Reclamation of Orberus: New Intel

We only have a week left before sign ups for the Reclamation of Orberus campaign closes and so much narrative has already happened. Some of the more eager player factions have been duking it out in prelude games which has somewhat effected the overall state of the Orberus sector already, and more back end plotlines have been thrown out by myself on top of that. So let's get stuck into the new intel coming in from this tumultuous region of space.

The "Hollowed"

Reports have been coming in from the sector via Imperial intelligence of potentially enslaved Astra Militarum platoons fighting their own allies. Soldiers of the still loyal Imperial Guard regiments in the sector have named such platoons as the "Hollowed".

Whilst it was first hypothesised that these once loyal guard had been turned by the Necron's usage of the insidious mindshackle scarabs, mind control of this magnitude has never been known to be possible through such a means before, therefore the Tech Priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus have theorised that such a phenomenon could only be achieved through the use of the Pariah Nexus itself, though how the Necrons have manipulated it in such a fashion is as yet unknown.

All Imperial units have been ordered by the Ordos Xenos itself to capture as many live specimens of these "Hollowed" and transport them to the moon Venom so that the Mechanicus can study this phenomenon and aid in countering the Silent King's plans whatever they may be.

The Relic

Astartes of the Blood Raven chapter as well as the Oathbound Changehost, a Thousand Sons cult that the Khertet Dynasty had fought against during their campaign on Ultrus Prime, have arrived in the Orberus sector in search of a relic of unknown origins or power. All that is known at this point is that both factions are determined to retrieve this relic before any one else is able to claim it for themselves. There is even rumours that the Silent King himself lusts after the relic to further his own agendas as well...

The Tyranids of Veil's Reach

Astartes of the Angels of Vengeance chapter have recently responded to a distress call emanating from the planet of Veil's Reach, only to discover that the signal itself was a trap to lure them (or some other unsuspecting victim) planetside where upon a swarm of Tyranids from Hive Fleet Vespae would be unleashed against them.

Though the Astartes claimed victory in the ensuing battle, several of their battle brothers were badly injured as they continue their mission to combat the chaos taint that infects this system, though the identity of the foe that set the trap to ensnare them in the first plays weighs heavily on Master Israfil's mind...

The Guild of Shadows

Sightings of a previous unseen Khertet Dynasty leader have emerged, transmission incoming...

What is the Guild of Shadows? From what little information the Imperium could recover from the tombs on Ultrus Prime, back during what they refer to as the "War in Heaven" the Khertet Dynasty were famed for their efficiency in utter destruction and were known best for their legions of soldiers and ruthless, implacable marches. However, what has been hidden until now has been the Khertet Dynasty's death cult that were originally formed in service to the Nightbringer C'Tan and is now known as the Guild of Shadows, who have become adept at keeping their presence completely secret until now. Little else is known about the cult beyond that however, and any further intel discovered as to its operations are to be reported to the Ordos Xenos immediately.

Chaos Reigns

Fresh intelligence shows that, whilst a number of Chaos warbands have been detected in the sector following the whims of their foul masters, some have been monitored to be committing raids against their heretical kin, having seemingly allied themselves with the Silent King's forces. As of yet, it is uncertain if these these warbands have somehow joined the ranks of the Hollowed through the use of the Pariah Nexus or if the Silent King himself has formed an unholy alliance with these warbands somehow. Either way this may prove to work in the reclamation efforts advantage, for if the forces of Chaos were to destroy themselves then perhaps they will be too busy to turn their attention towards outside influences.
