New Intel: First Encounters
Due to the club the campaign is running at being closed until the end of May I had extended the duration of the current Flashpoint until partway through the month (next flashpoint announcement coming soon), however as we only have two more games left to be played out I thought it was time for some new narrative intel to be made public going into the second flashpoint of the first phase. Brace yourselves, a lot has happened...
Research into the "Hollowed"
Following their battle against the Tallarn "Seventeenth", the Nulla Facultan 1st have recovered and delivered several bodies belonging to the Necron aligned guardsmen to the Inquisition for further tests. After several weeks of dissection and monitoring under the chirurgeons of the Ordos Xenos they have yet to find any xenos technology that might explain their heretical actions. It had been the belief of Imperial agents that the "Hollowed" had been controlled by mindshackle scarabs that are commonly deployed by the Necrons, however no such evidence has been found to prove this theory as of yet.
The Inquisition have now come to the conclusion that either the "Hollowed" are little more than willing servants to the insidious machine race or that something even more sinister is happening to these guardsmen...
Darkness falls over Veil's Reach
Veil's Reach has long been a key location in the Imperium's fight against the expansion of the Pariah Nexus and currently still remains under the control of the Imperium despite the odd attack from roving Chaos Warbands and vanguard swarms hailing from Hive Fleet Vespae. However, recently there have been reports from various Astra Militarum regiments detailing a strange "buzzing" or "chittering" sound in the air and an increase in pests devouring their rations. Stranger still, the nights are beginning to last longer than their solar cycles should dictate and all communication with orbiting Imperial Navy ships have completely ceased. Imperial High Command will be sending orders to nearby forces to investigate the phenomenon immediately.
Blood Ravens withdraw, Thousand Sons disappear
The Blood Ravens have reported their withdrawal from the Orberus Sector having lured the Oathbound Changehost to the system to lead them away from the true location of the artefact they seeked, deeming it vital that the Thousand Sons warband never get their hands on it. However, this had not escaped the Oathbound Changehost's attention and they have since disappeared into the warp in pursuit. It has been confirmed by Imperial agents that there is no longer any trace of either faction in the system though Imperial forces have been ordered to stay alert should either one make a return to the Orberus Sector.
